Warranty Terms & Conditions — Version 1
Effective Date: 11 September 2026
These terms explain the 6-month warranty provided with eligible products sold by Cody's Electronics, as well as the warranty that applies to repair work carried out by us.
1. Product Warranty
Products sold by Cody's Electronics are covered by a 6-month warranty, unless a different warranty period is specifically stated at the time of sale.
The warranty covers genuine functional faults that develop during normal use during the warranty period.
This can include faults affecting components or functions such as:
Buttons and controls
Sticks and triggers
Charging
Connectivity
Displays and screens
Speakers and microphones
Batteries where the battery has developed a genuine fault
Other hardware functions
Each warranty claim will be assessed individually.
2. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not normally cover damage or faults caused by:
Accidental damage, including drops or impacts
Liquid or moisture damage
Misuse or abuse
Deliberate damage
Unauthorised repairs or modifications
Incorrect installation
Unsuitable chargers, power supplies or accessories
Continued use of a product after a serious fault has developed where further damage occurs
Normal cosmetic wear, such as scratches or marks from use, is not covered where it does not affect functionality.
3. Normal Wear and Batteries
Electronic components can naturally wear through normal use.
Normal use does not automatically exclude a product from warranty coverage. If a component wears or deteriorates to the point that the product no longer functions as reasonably expected, we will assess the fault.
For example, stick drift on a controller can be covered by the warranty where it develops during normal use.
Batteries naturally lose capacity over time. Gradual reduction in battery capacity is therefore not automatically considered a fault.
However, genuine battery failures will be assessed under the warranty.
4. Warranty Seals
Some products may have a tamper-evident warranty seal fitted by Cody's Electronics.
The purpose of the seal is to help identify whether a product has been opened, modified or repaired after being sold by us.
A broken or damaged warranty seal does not automatically cancel the warranty.
If the seal has been broken, we may inspect the product to determine whether unauthorised opening, modification or repair caused or contributed to the reported fault.
5. Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your product has developed a fault, please contact:
hello@codyelectronics.co.uk
Please provide:
Your name
Proof of purchase or order information
A description of the problem
Photos or videos where useful
We may ask you to carry out some reasonable troubleshooting or return the product to us for inspection.
6. Warranty Inspection and Resolution
A product may need to be inspected and tested before we can determine whether a fault is covered.
If the fault is covered by the warranty, Cody's Electronics may, depending on the circumstances:
Repair the product
Replace a faulty component
Replace the product where appropriate
Provide another suitable remedy
We will aim to resolve genuine warranty claims fairly and within a reasonable period.
A warranty repair does not automatically restart the original 6-month warranty period.
7. Customer-Owned Repairs
When Cody's Electronics repairs a device that you already own, the warranty applies to the repair work and parts supplied by Cody's Electronics.
It does not automatically cover unrelated faults elsewhere in the device.
For example, if we replace a charging port, the repair warranty applies to that repair and the replacement part. If a separate component later develops an unrelated fault, that would be assessed separately.
If we discover additional faults while carrying out a repair, we will normally discuss these with you before carrying out any additional chargeable work.
8. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in these warranty terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
Your legal rights apply separately from any voluntary warranty provided by Cody Electronics.
